Find patterns in your Event Logs

By providing a consolidated view of all XP/NT/2000/2003 Event Logs, an administrator can identify patterns existing in multiple logs.  If several servers generate the same events associated with a certain user, the administrator can identify and correct the real cause of the problem.  An event statistics window quickly identifies counts of events across the enterprise.  Alternatively, detecting anomalies and intrusions by analyzing the security logs enables the security team to quickly identify the source of the intrusion as well as any affected files and move quickly to repair and/or quarantine necessary areas.

Organize and Filter your NT/2000 Event Logs

Administrators can organize their event filters to group similar filters together. This provides access to the necessary (and useful!) filters at the click of a mouse. Standard Explorer-style interface provides a tree containing all EventFilters, making finding the desired filter both easy and efficient. Build computer lists by grouping similar computers together. An example of this would be to group all of your mail servers together, providing a common view of the Event Logs from all of your mail servers.  

Modify and rerun Event Filters on the fly!

Anytime you run a query with Event Log View Online you get a chance to modify the filter  before running the query, enabling you to "drill-down" to more specific events. You may also choose to run the previous filter exactly as specified. When you do this, you may also specify further filtering parameters. By properly utilizing Event Log View's powerful searching capabilities, you can "zero in" on the most important event(s) you are looking for.

You may filter by any or all fields in the event header, as well as the fields in the event's description parameters.  Administrators can filter by specific Event IDs or by specifying a range of Event IDs. 

If you are not be sure of what you are looking for, View Online has a unique exclude filter option letting you search and filter the event logs showing you a list of all the events and excluding the noise events you don't want to see!!  The wild card options in the parameter fields of the description text enhances you analysis by creating filters for lists of computer names or user names. 

Save Query results in a comma-delimited text file

By saving the results of your query in a comma-delimited test file you may import these results into the database of your choice for complex data analysis. Combine this feature with the ability to store machines experiencing similar problems in lists of their own and you have a very powerful reporting mechanism for your NT/2000 event logs.

Optimize Event Search

You may optimize your event searches by only searching events for the last few hours or the last few events, reducing the time it takes to process the events by up to 400%.
